Tobramycin
Indications/Uses
External eye & adnexa infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Mild to moderate disease 1-2 drops into affected eye(s) every 4 hr. Severe infections 2 drops into affected eye(s) hrly until improvement.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if hypersensitivity & superinfection occurs. Cross-hypersensitivity to other aminoglycosides. Known or suspected neuromuscular disorders eg, myasthenia gravis or Parkinson's disease; overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms. May aggravate muscle weakness & cause eye irritation due to benzalkonium Cl. Avoid contact w/ soft contact lenses. Remove contact lens prior to application & wait 15 min before reinsertion. Prolonged use. Concomitant use w/ topical &/or systemic aminoglycosides. May affect ability to drive & use machines.
Adverse Reactions
Ocular discomfort & hyperaemia.
