Indications/Uses
Adjunct to diet & exercise to improve glycemic control in adults w/ type 2 DM.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Not to be used in type 1 diabetes or treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis. Discontinue use if pancreatitis & bullous pemphigoid is suspected. Increased risk of hypoglycemia w/ concomitant sulphonyurea. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Avoid use during pregnancy. Lactation. Paed.
Adverse Reactions
Hypogylcaemia. Increased lipase & amylase.
Drug Interactions
Decreased steady-state AUC & Cmax w/ rifampicin. Increased plasma AUC & Cmax of simvastatin.
