Tramadol HCl
Indications/Uses
Moderate to severe pain.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >14 yr 1-2 cap as single dose. An additional dose may be taken after 30-60 min if pain relief is unsatisfactory. Severe pain 2 cap as single dose. Max: 400 mg daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Acute intoxication w/ alcohol, hypnotics, analgesics, other CNS-acting drugs. Concomitant or w/in 14 days of MAOI. Not for treatment of narcotic w/drawal.
Special Precautions
Reduced consciousness of unclear origin, resp centre disorders, increased intracranial pressure, opioid dependence. Avoid long-term use. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances, dizziness, sweating, dry mouth, fatigue, headache, palpitations, tachycardia, postural hypotension, rash.
Drug Interactions
MAOI, CNS depressants, alcohol, carbamazepine, neuroleptics.
