VICKS VapoRub works two ways: Vapour action: When applied, the special Vicks medications turn into medicinal vapours. These are inhaled to help clear blocked nose, ease breathing and coughing. For deeper relief, use in steam as instructed as follows.
Warming action: When rubbed, the special Vicks medication helps soothe muscular aches and pains due to colds.
Symptomatic relief of blocked nose, cough, muscular aches and pains due to colds.
For relief, massage VICKS VAPORUB on throat, chest and back.
For use in steam: Partly fill a bowl with steaming water, add 2 teaspoonfuls of VapoRub and inhale vapours for 10-15 minutes. Repeat as necessary. Children should be closely supervised to avoid scalding.
When using this product, do not apply heat or heat/reheat (using microwave/stove), add to boiling water or container where water is being heated. Failure to follow these instructions can cause hot product to splatter and burn the face or body.
For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Camphor can cause convulsion. For use on adults and children above 2 years. Use is contraindicated in infants below 2 years of age. Caution must be exercised when treating children. Do not use by mouth, with tight bandages or heating pads, in nostrils, on wounds or damaged skin. Consult a doctor if fever, cough or other symptoms persist and/or if pregnant or breast-feeding. Stop use if irritation develops.
It is dangerous to place any camphor containing product into the nostril of children. A small amount applied this way may cause immediate collapse.
