Indications/Uses
Eczema including atopic, infantile & discoid eczemas; prurigo nodulis; psoriasis (excluding widespread plaque psoriasis); neurodermatoses including lichen simplex, lichen planus; seborrhoeic dermatitis; contact sensitivity reactions; discoid lupus erythematosus; insect bite reactions. Adjunct to systemic steroid therapy in generalised erythroderma.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult, elderly & childn >1 yr Apply small amount once or bd.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Rosacea, acne vulgaris, perioral dermatitis, widespread plaque psoriasis. Primary cutaneous viral infections eg, herpes simplex, chickenpox. Primarily infected skin lesions caused by infections w/ fungi eg, candidiasis, tinea; or bacteria eg, impetigo; primary or secondary infections due to yeast; peri-anal & genital pruritus. Dermatoses in childn <1 yr.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if hypersensitivity occurs. Not to be used under occlusion. Cushing's syndrome; adrenal suppression; cataracts. Risk of generalised pustular psoriasis; local & systemic toxicity. Rebound relapses; tolerance. Avoid contact w/ eyes. Avoid abrupt w/drawal. Prolonged use. Renal & hepatic impairment. Avoid use during pregnancy. Lactation. Avoid long-term continuous therapy in infants & childn. Elderly.
