Not to be used for post-op IA continuous infusion. Porphyric patients. Inadvertent intravascular; retrobular & peribulbar inj. Insert IV cannula prior to local anaesth inj. Concomitant use w/ class III anti-arrhythmics eg, amiodarone. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Severe hepatic disease or renal impairment. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly, young or debilitated patients. MDV: Not to be inj intrathecal, intracisternal & intrabulbar routes. 2nd- or 3rd-degree AV block. Polyamp: Known drug sensitivities. Epilepsy, impaired cardiac conduction, bradycardia, severe shock or digitalis intoxication, impaired CV function, Stokes-Adams or Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome; hypovolaemia; pre-existing abnormal neurological pathology eg, myasthenia gravis; CNS or spinal cord diseases eg, meningitis, spinal fluid block, cranial or spinal haemorrhage, tumours, poliomyelitis, syphilis, tuberculosis or spinal cord metastatic lesions. Monitor CV & resp vital signs after inj; signs & symptoms of neurological impairment; fetal heart rate. Avoid subarachnoid inj. Indwelling epidural catheters, traumatic or repeated epidural/spinal puncture. Concomitant use of drugs affecting haemostasis eg, NSAID, platelet inhibitors or other anticoagulants.
