Gout, hyperuricemia & uric acid lithiasis. Treatment of Ca oxalate/phosphate renal stones in the presence of hyperuricemia &/or hyperuricosuria.
Dosage/Direction for Use
AdultMild conditions 2-10 mg/kg daily or 100-200 mg daily. Moderately severe 300-600 mg daily. Severe 700-900 mg daily. Childn <15 yr 10-20 mg/kg daily or 100-400 mg daily.
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals.
Acute gout. Asymptomatic hyperuricaemia.
Acute attack of gouty arthritis in early stages of therapy. Skin reactions (discontinue immediately at 1st sign of rash). Very rarely, granulomatous hepatitis. Occasionally; thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis, & aplastic anaemia in patients w/ impaired renal function.
