Why do I need this medicine?

Adapalene is used to treat acne.

How do I use this medicine?

Use this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.

Wash and dry your skin gently before applying Adapalene to the affected areas and the surrounding skin.

Avoid applying to the areas of skin around eyes, lips, mouth, and angles of the nose. If Adapalene accidentally gets into your eyes, flush your eyes with clean water immediately.

Do not use Adapalene for anything else other than the purpose instructed by your doctor.

What should I do if I have forgotten to use this medicine?

Apply missed dose as soon as you remember.

DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.

If you often forget to use your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.

What should I take note of while using this medicine?

Do not apply on broken (e.g. cuts and abrasions), sunburnt or inflamed/ irritated skin.

Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

What side effects could I experience?

This medicine may cause any of the following side effects: burning, stinging, scaling, dryness, and redness of the skin.

Adapalene may also cause increase sensitivity to UV light. Apply sunscreen when going outdoors and avoid direct or prolonged exposure to sunlight and UV lamps.

Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.

Can I use this with other medicines?

Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking vitamin A and other similar medicines, or multivitamins containing vitamin A.

Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics, such as traditional Chinese medicine, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.

What special dietary instructions should I follow?

Avoid alcohol.

How should I store this medicine?

Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.

Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
