Why do I need this medicine?

Budesonide helps alleviate constant runny nose, sneezing and itching associated with allergic rhinitis and non-allergic seasonal rhinitis.

This medicine is also used to treat nasal polyps (growth in the lining of nasal passage) and for the management of asthma.

How do I use this medicine?

Use Budesonide exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.

This medicine is available in powder for nasal inhalation and suspension for nasal inhalation.

If you are using the powder for nasal inhalation:

1. Blow your nose gently before using the spray.
2. Hold inhaler in upright position.
3. Turn the grey grip as far as it can go and then back to original position. A clicking sound indicates inhaler is loaded and ready for use.
4. Place nozzle into nostril and ensure firm fit.
5. Cover the opposite nostril with finger and inhale or sniff quickly and forcefully. Do not exhale through the inhaler.
6. Wipe and cap the nasal spray after using.

If you are using the suspension for nasal inhalation:

1. Shake the bottle well.
2. Remove cover and press the pump a few times until you produce an even spray.
3. Place nozzle into nostril and ensure firm fit.
4. Press the pump to the recommended dose.
5. Wipe and cap the nasal spray after using.

If you have problems or do not understand the instructions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

You may need to use Budesonide for some time before the full benefits can be felt. Continue to use it even when you feel better. Do not stop using it unless instructed by the doctor.

Do not share your nasal spray with others as it could spread infection.
