Why do I need this medicine?

Ciclesonide is used in the management of asthma. This medicine helps relax the airways in your lungs.

How do I use this medicine?

Use Ciclesonide exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.

Ciclesonide is available as an inhaler.

If you are using the inhaler for the very first time, prime the inhaler by pumping 3 test sprays into the air away from your face. You should also do this whenever your inhaler has not been used for more than 1 week.

To take a dose using the inhaler, follow these steps:
1. Remove mouthpiece cover.
2. Place the mouthpiece in your mouth and close your lips firmly around it.
3. Breathe in through your mouth. Inhale slowly and deeply while pressing down the inhaler to release a puff of medicine.
4. Remove the inhaler from your mouth while holding your breath for 10 seconds.

Make sure you know how to use the inhaler. If you have problems or if you do not understand the instructions, ask your doctor or pharmacist to show you how to use it.

Always rinse your mouth after using your inhaler.

Ciclesonide must be used regularly for it to be effective. Continue using this medicine even when you feel better. Do not stop using it unless instructed by the doctor.

What should I do if I have forgotten to use this medicine?

Use the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.

DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.

If you often forget to use your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.

When should I not use this medicine?

Do not use Ciclesonide to relieve a sudden attack of breathlessness. This medicine cannot treat an acute asthma attack.
