Why do I need this medicine?

Ipratropium Bromide is used to treat asthma and other chest illnesses.

This medicine helps treat your asthma or other chest illnesses by relaxing the airways in your lungs. This helps relieve chest tightness, wheezing and cough so that you can breathe more easily.

How do I use this medicine?

Use Ipratropium Bromide exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.

Ipratropium Bromide is available as different types of devices, such as an inhaler or aerohaler. It is also available as a nebulising solution. The nebulising solution is to be used with a machine known as a nebuliser.

Make sure you know how to use the specific device or machine which you have been given. If you have problems or do not understand the instructions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Ipratropium Bromide must be used regularly for it to be effective. Continue using Ipratropium Bromide even when you feel better. Do not stop using it unless instructed by the doctor.
