Why do I need this medicine?

Sodium Fluoride is used to prevent tooth decay.

How do I take this medicine?

Use Sodium Fluoride exactly as directed as by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.

When using Sodium Fluoride mouthwash, rinse the mouth for 1 minute before spitting out. Do not swallow Sodium Fluoride mouthwash. Do not eat, drink or rinse your mouth for 15 minutes after use.

What should I do if I have forgotten to take this medicine?

Use the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skipped the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.

DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.

If you often forget to use your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.

When should I not use this medicine?

Do not use Sodium Fluoride if you have a history of allergic reactions (swollen eyes or mouth, difficulty breathing, rashes) to this medicine.

What should I take note of while using this medicine?

Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Sodium Fluoride mouthwash or rinsing solution is not recommended to children under 6 years of age because they are not able to effectively spit the mouthwash after use.

Children 6 years of age or older should be supervised or instructed carefully to ensure that the correct technique is used and that Sodium Fluoride is not swallowed.

What side effects could I experience?

Sodium Fluoride may cause discoloration of the teeth, skin rash and allergic reactions.

Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.

Can I take this with other medicines?

Do not use Sodium Fluoride with aluminium, calcium or magnesium salt containing medicine.

Always inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.

What special dietary instructions should I follow?

Avoid alcohol and dairy products.

How should I store this medicine?

Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.

Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
