Bacillus clausii is a probiotic used in the treatment of diarrhoea caused by bacteria or antibiotic use.
This medicine may be used to treat other conditions as decided by your doctor.
Take
Bacillus clausii exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.
Try to take it at the same time each day.
The dose of this medicine will be decided by your doctor. Your doctor will advise you on the treatment timeframe depending on your condition.
This medicine is available as an oral suspension or capsule.
If you are taking the oral suspension:
- Shake the mini bottle well before you take it.
- Twist the cap to open the bottle.
- Squeeze the bottle to directly drink the whole content or mix it with sweetened water, milk, tea, or orange juice before drinking.
Bacillus clausii must be taken regularly for it to be effective. Continue taking this medicine even when you feel better. Do not stop taking it unless instructed by the doctor.
Do not inject or administer in any other way.
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.
DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.
If you often forget to take your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
Do not take Bacillus clausii if you ever had an allergic reaction (e.g. rashes, breathlessness, swollen eyes) to this medicine or any of its ingredients.
Inform your doctor if you have a condition causing a weak immune system.
Be sure to check with your doctor or pharmacist before giving Bacillus clausii to a child.
Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you develop rashes, breathlessness, swollen mouth or eyes, stop taking Bacillus clausii and inform your doctor immediately. These could be signs of an allergic reaction.
Inform your doctor if you experience other side effects.
Avoid alcohol.
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
