Co-amoxiclav: Per 375 mg FC tab Amoxicillin 250 mg, clavulanic acid 125 mg. Per 625 mg FC tab Amoxicillin 500 mg, clavulanic acid 125 mg.
Indications/Uses
Lower resp tract, otitis media & sinusitis; skin & skin-structure infections; UTI.

Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 250-500 mg 8 hrly. Childn <10 yr 125-250 mg 8 hrly. <20 kg 20-40 mg/kg in divided doses 8 hrly. Neonate & infant <12 wk (3 mth) Recommended dose: 30 mg/kg/day in divided doses 12 hrly.

Overdosage
View Bactoclav overdosage for action to be taken in the event of an overdose.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: May be taken at the start of meals for better absorption & to reduce GI discomfort.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to penicillins. History of amoxicillin w/ clavulanate K-associated cholestatic jaundice/hepatic dysfunction.

Superinfection. Not to be used by patients w/ mononucleosis. Pregnancy & lactation.

Diarrhoea/loose stools, nausea, skin rashes & urticaria, vomiting, vaginitis.

Drug Interactions
Increased levels in concomitant use w/ probenecid. May reduce efficacy of OCs. Prolonged bleeding w/ anticoagulants.
