IM Immunization schedule: Prevention of tetanus/neonatal tetanus 2 primary doses of 0.5 mL at least 4 wk apart followed by 3rd dose at least 6 mth after. To maintain immunity through child-bearing period, give 4th dose at least 1 yr after 3rd dose & 5th dose at least 1 yr after 4th dose. Previously non-immunized pregnant women 2 doses at least 4 wk apart w/ 2nd dose given at least 2 wk before childbirth. Previously unimmunized person at risk of developing tetanus At least 2 doses w/ at least 1 mth interval followed by additional booster doses.
