Dequalinium chloride is used to treat various mild infections of the mouth or throat.
This medicine helps relieve sore throat, mouth, or tongue.
Take Dequalinium chloride exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.
This medicine is available as lozenge. Suck one lozenge every 2-3 hours until it slowly dissolves in your mouth.
Take Dequalinium chloride for the shortest duration as necessary to relieve the symptoms.
DO NOT double a dose to make up for a missed dose or under any circumstances.
Do not give this medicine to children under 10 years of age unless instructed to do so by the doctor.
Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If symptoms have not improved or have worsened after 3 days, consult your doctor.
Dequalinium chloride may cause any of the following side effects: soreness of tongue, and mouth discomfort or burning sensation.
Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
Avoid alcohol.
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
