Ketoconazole
Indications/Uses
Tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis, pityriasis versicolor, cutaneous candidiasis, seborrheic dermatitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & adolescent Tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis or pityriasis versicolor Apply once daily to affected skin & surrounding areas. Duration: At least 2-4 wk (tinea corporis & tinea cruris); 4-6 wk (tinea pedis); 2-3 wk (pityriasis versicolor). Cutaneous candidiasis Apply once daily to affected skin & surrounding areas. May require bd treatment in more resistant cases. Duration: At least 2-3 wk. Seborrheic dermatitis Apply bd to affected skin & surrounding areas. Duration: At least 4 wk or until clinical clearing occurs.
Special Precautions
Cross sensitivity to miconazole or other imidazoles. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Itching, stinging, or irritation not present before therapy, contact dermatitis (skin rash).
