Contents
Per cap Amoxicillin trihydrate 250 mg, flucloxacillin Na 250 mg. Per vial Amoxicillin Na 250 mg, flucloxacillin Na 250 mg
Indications/Uses
Skin & soft tissue infections, empyema, toxic shock syndrome due to S. aureus. Treatment of hospital-acquired S. epidermidis infection. Pre- & post-op care w/ advantage of parenteral to oral single antibiotic therapy. For chronic administration in bone & joint infections eg osteomyelitis, endocarditis. Mild to moderate infections of resp, genitourinary & GI tract.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Mild to moderately severe infections 1 cap tds-qds for 5-7 days. Severe infections 1 vial 4-6 hrly, upon reduction in severity switch to oral Flumox cap 1 cap tds-qds. Chronic conditions 1 cap once-tds. Surgical prophylaxis 500 mg-1 g inj.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to penicillins & cephalosporins.
Special Precautions
Adverse Reactions
Nausea or diarrhea, abnormal liver function test (SGOT).
Drug Interactions
Reduced reabsorption of OCs.
