Fluocinolone acetonide.
Each 1 gram cream contains: Fluocinolone acetonide 250 mcg.
Excipients/Inactive Ingredients: Propylene glycol, cetanol, stearyl alcohol, vaselin, paraffin liquid, sorbitan monostearate, polysorbate 60, propyl paraben, butyl paraben, purified water.
Use in inflammation, itching and allergy in the skin. Indicated in atopic dermatitis, eczema neurodermatitis, prurigo and atopic dermatitis caused by cosmetics, medicines, chemicals and other allergens in skin; used to treat all psoriasis, chronic lupus erythematosus, also used in case of other skin diseases such as otitis externa, sunburn in skin.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Fluvitar cream is gently applied to the affected area as a thin film two or four times daily.
Topically applied corticosteroids can be absorbed in sufficient amounts produce systemic effects.
Patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any of components of the preparation.
Primary infections of the skin caused by bacterial, fungi and viruses.
Special Precautions
If FLUVITAR is used in the presence of infection, adequate anti-infective coverage must be provided.
Long term continuous use of topical steroids therapy can produce skin changes. Topical steroids should not be applied to the face for prolonged periods. Prolonged use of topical steroid can result in sufficient absorption of the steroid to produce the features of adrenal suppression.
Use In Pregnancy & Lactation
During pregnancy both the amount applied and the length of treatment should be minimised.
This medicine should not be used during breastfeeding unless considered essential by a doctor.
If it is prescribed by a doctor, it should not be used on large areas of skin, underneath airtight dressing or for prolonged periods of time. If is applied to the breast it should be washed off carefully before breastfeeding and then reapplied afterwards.
Side Effects
Very rarely, hypersensitivity reactions may occur.
Inform a doctor or pharmacist in case of any adverse reactions related to drug use.
Drug Interactions
There are no reports on drug interactions.
In a well-closed container, a cool and dry place, protect from light.
Shelf-Life: 36 months from manufacturing date.
