PT Konimex

Full Prescribing Info
Konidin Mucolytic Expectorant Syrup is a combination of mucolytic and expectorant. Bromhexine HCl and Glyceryl guaiacolate work directly on mucous secreting cells in respiratory tract by breaking the acid mucoply-saccharide fibres. The breakdown of mucoply-saccharide fibres makes the sputum thinner and less viscid and therefore easily removed by coughing.
Pharmacokinetics: Bromhexine hydrochloride is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and about 85-90% of the dose is excreted in the urine mainly as metabolites. Bromhexine is highly bound to plasma proteins.
Glyceryl guaiacolate is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. It is metabolized and excreted in the urine.
