Indications/Uses
Emergency contraceptive pill to prevent pregnancy in case of unprotected intercourse.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Take 1 tab as soon as possible, preferably w/in 12 hr after the unprotected intercourse & not more than 72 hr (3 days) after the unprotected intercourse. Can be taken at any moment during the menstrual cycle.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
Does not allow to prevent a pregnancy in every instance. Associated hormonal overdosing is not advisable in case of regular intake. Cannot replace a regular contraception, nor the necessary precautions against STDs & the measures to be taken in case of risk of transmission. Take another tab immediately if vomiting occurs after administration. Concomitant use w/ anticonvulsants (eg, phenobarb, phenytoin, primidone, carbamazepine), rifampicin & griseofulvin. Not recommended in case of ectopic pregnancy or severe digestive disease. Not indicated for use in case of preexisting pregnancy. Breastfeed immediately before intake & skip nursing following each administration.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, vomiting; dizziness, fatigue, headache; abdominal pain; feeling of breast tenderness; bleeding.
Drug Interactions
Efficacy can be reduced or suppressed by anticonvulsants (eg, phenobarb, phenytoin, primidone, carbamazepine), rifampicin & griseofulvin.
