Indications/Uses
Mild to moderately severe dementia of the Alzheimer type.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
Should be taken with food: Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, severe hepatic or renal disease.
Special Precautions
Heart disorders; stomach ulcer or history of ulcer; acute abdominal pain; epilepsy; asthma; regular wt monitoring; renal & hepatic impairment. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, vomiting; decreased or loss of appetite, depression; hallucinations, dizziness, headache, trembling, fatigue, drowsiness, bradycardia, high BP; diarrhea, abdominal pain & discomfort; increased sweating, muscle spasms, malaise, wt loss.
Drug Interactions
Other cholinomimetics, digoxin, β-blocker, succinylcholine-type muscle relaxants, CYP2D6, CYP3A4 inhibitors, ketoconazole, quinidine, paroxetine, amitriptyline, fluoxetine or fluvoxamine.
