Indications/Uses
Suppression of gastric hyperacidity.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult : PO 150-300 mg once daily.
Special Precautions
Hepatic impairment.
Adverse Reactions
Diarrhoea, loose stools, headaches, rhinorrhoea.
Drug Interactions
May reduce absorption of drugs (e.g. ketoconazole) whose absorption is dependent on gastric pH.
Action
Description: Revaprazan is a proton pump inhibitor that is currently being investigated for the management of gastric and duodenal ulceration, functional dyspepsia and GERD.
Pharmacokinetics:
Absorption: Rapidly absorbed.
Excretion: Plasma half-life: 2.2-2.4 hr.
