Paracetamol
Indications/Uses
All conditions requiring relief from pain & fever due to neuritis, neuralgia, headache, migraine, toothache, rheumatic disorder, cold, flu, dysmenorrhoea, acute & chronic inflammatory disorders.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Childn up to 1 yr 2.5-5 mL, 1-5 yr 5-10 mL, 6-12 yr 10-20 mL. May be repeated 4-6 hrly. Max: 4 doses in 24 hr.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Impaired kidney & liver function. Concomitant use w/ drugs that affect the liver.
Adverse Reactions
Hematological reactions & skin eruptions.
Drug Interactions
Increased absorption w/ domperidone & metoclopramide. Reduced absorption w/ colestyramine. May enhance anticoagulant effect of coumarins w/ prolonged use.
