Ranitidine HCl
Indications/Uses
Proven duodenal ulcer & gastric ulcer; hypersecretory conditions, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, mastocytosis, post-op ulcer; reflux oesophagitis. Long-term prevention of ulcer recurrence.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IM/IV/IV infusion 50 mg every 6-8 hr. IV inj must be diluted to contain 50 mg in 20 mL soln. IV infusion must be diluted to contain 50 mg in 100 mL soln at the rate of 25 mg/hr for 2 hr.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Possibility of malignancy should be excluded before therapy. May mask symptoms associated w/ stomach carcinoma. Impaired renal & hepatic function. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Rash, headache, dizziness, diarrhea & tiredness. Local pain, burning or itching has been reported at the site of inj.
