Symptoms of Vitamin C deficiency intake can lead to scurvy. Scurvy is associated with a defect in collagen synthesis that is apparent by the failure of wounds to heal, defects in tooth formation and rupture of capillaries which leads to numerous petechiae. Secondary symptoms accompanying scurvy include anemia, infections and metabolic disturbances.
In children and adults, vitamin C deficiency may also cause weakness, vague muscle and joint pains, loss of weight, bleeding gums, gingivitis, loosening of the teeth and minute hemorrhages under the skin.
Signs of Zinc Deficiency: Growth retardation, hair loss, diarrhea, delayed sexual maturation and impotence, eye and skin lesions, loss of appetite and delayed healing of wounds.
