Per FC tab Cetirizine diHCl 5 mg, phenylephrine HCl 10 mg. Per 5 mL syr Cetirizine diHCl 5 mg, phenylephrine HCl 5 mg
Indications/Uses
Relief of clogged nose; sneezing, runny, itchy nose; itchy watery eyes associated w/ allergic rhinitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Tab Adult & childn >12 yr 1 tab every 12 hr. Syrup Childn 6-12 yr 5 mL (1 tsp) every 12 hr, 2-5 yr 2.5 mL (½ tsp) every 12 hr.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, drowsiness/sleepiness, dry mouth, sore throat, coughing, bronchospasm (sudden, uncontrolled narrowing of airways in lungs), epistaxis (nose bleeding), stomach pain, diarrhea, nausea & vomiting.
Drug Interactions
May increase toxicity w/ sympathomimetic agents (eg, epinephrine) & general anesth (eg, halothane). May result in antihypertensive crisis w/ antidepressants (eg, amitriptyline, imipramine, sertraline, moclobemide). Decreased effect w/ adrenergic blocking agent (eg, phenothiazine, phentolamine, propranolol).
