5 mg/50 mg Amlodipine besilate 5 mg, losartan K 50 mg. 5 mg/100 mg Amlodipine besilate 5 mg, losartan K 100 mg
Indications/Uses
Mild to moderate HTN in case of inadequate control w/ monotherapy.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Stable & Prinzmetal's angina Initially 1 tab once daily. Increase to 2 tab daily if necessary.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Cardiogenic shock, recent MI, acute unstable angina & chronic stable angina attack. Pregnancy.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ hypotension, poor cardiac reserve, heart failure, vol depletion; severe aortic stenosis; hepatic & renal impairment; renal artery stenosis. Sudden w/drawal may exacerbate angina. Discontinue if ischemic pain following administration occurs. Monitor serum K conc. Avoid concomitant use w/ K-sparing diuretics. Hepatic & renal impairment. Lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Dizziness, flushing, headache, hypotension, peripheral edema, tachycardia, palpitations. Nausea, GI disturbances, increased micturition frequency, lethargy, eye pain, mental depression. Paradoxical increase in ischemic chest pain at the start of treatment. Rashes, fever, abnormalities in liver function (cholestasis), hyperplasia, myalgia, tremor, impotence.
Drug Interactions
May enhance antihypertensive effects of other antihypertensives eg, β-blockers, aldesleukin, antipsychotics, quinidine, carbamazepine, phenytoin, rifampicin, cimetidine & erythromycin.
