Cetirizine HCl
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of allergic conditions including rhinitis & chronic urticaria.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to cetirizine or hydroxyzine. Hypokalemic patients w/ chronic renal failure or undergoing hemodialysis. Childn <6 yr w/ hepatic & renal impairment. Infants & childn.
Special Precautions
May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly w/ renal & hepatic impairment.
Adverse Reactions
Drowsiness; recurrent acute hepatitis; irritability, insomnia, somnolence, fatigue, dry mouth, pharyngitis, dizziness, headache, abdominal pain, cough, diarrhea, epistaxis, bronchospasm, nausea, vomiting, & hypersensitivity manifested by urticaria & fixed drug eruptions.
Drug Interactions
Enhanced sedation w/ CNS depressants eg, barbiturates, alcohol, hypnotic, opioid analgesics, anxiolytic sedatives & neuroleptics.
