Indications/Uses
Parenteral nutrition supplement in conditions eg, acute & chronic renal insufficiency, hemofiltration, peritoneal & hemodialysis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Acute & chronic renal insufficiency Recommended daily dose: 0.5 g/kg/day. Patient treated by hemodialysis, hemofiltration & peritoneal dialysis Max: 1 g/kg/day.
Contraindications
Disturbances of the amino acid metabolism. Hepatic coma, serious renal disturbances, hypernatremia, hyperkalemia, CHF, hyperhydration, metabolic acidosis. Long-term parenteral use.
Special Precautions
Monitor fluid, serum electrolytes, blood sugar levels & acid base balance. Fat should be included in the dietary regimen to avoid essential fatty acid deficiency.
Adverse Reactions
Chest discomfort & palpitation. Nausea, vomiting, chills & fever.
