Cilostazol
Indications/Uses
Management of peripheral vascular disease & reduction of symptoms of intermittent claudication.
Dosage/Direction for Use
100 mg bid. Response in treatment may occur in 2-4 wk, but up to 12 wk may be required.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take at least 30 min before or 2 hr after meals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. CHF. Predisposition to bleeding, history of ventricular arrhythmias, QT interval prolongation, severe renal impairment or moderate to severe hepatic impairment.
Special Precautions
Avoid use or reduce dose in patients taking inhibitors of CYP450 isoenzymes CYP3A4 or CYP2C19.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, dizziness, palpitations & diarrhoea; oedema, nausea & vomiting, other cardiac arrhythmias, chest pain, rhinitis, ecchymosis & skin rashes. CV toxicity.
Drug Interactions
May result in changes in plasma conc w/ CYP3A4 & CYP2C19.
