Indications/Uses
Treatment of infections due to benzylpenicillin-resistant staphylococci.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IM 250 mg 4-6 hrly. Slow IV inj Over 3-4 min 4-6 hrly. Childn 2-10 yr ½ adult dose, 2 yr ¼ adult dose.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to penicillin. Not for ocular administration.
Special Precautions
Severe renal impairment.
Adverse Reactions
Phlebitis, neurotoxicity.
Drug Interactions
Erythromycin ethylsuccinate, gentamicin sulfate, kanamycin sulfate, colistin sulfomethate Na, oxytetracycline HCl, chlorpromazine HCl, vit C, tetracycline HCl & polymyxin B sulfate. Do not add to IV lipids, blood products & protein hydrolysates or other proteinaceous fluids.
