Indications/Uses
Management of various inflammatory & allergic conditions responsive to corticosteroid therapy eg, skin diseases, collagen diseases, blood dyscrasias, certain neoplastic disease & adrenocortical insufficiency.
Dosage/Direction for Use
RA, chronic bronchial asthma Decilone tab 1-2 tab (0.5-1 mg) daily. Decilone Forte tab ¼-½ tab (1-2 mg) every other day. Disseminated lupus erythematosus, pemphigus, sarcoidosis Decilone tab 4-9 tab (2-4.5 mg) daily. Decilone Forte tab 1-2 tab (4-8 mg) every other day. Seasonal allergies, dermatological & self-limited ocular disorders Decilone tab 4-6 tab (2-3 mg) daily. Decilone Forte tab 1-1½ tab (4-6 mg) every other day. Acute rheumatic fever, severe allergic reactions Decilone tab 8-20 tab (4-10 mg) daily. Decilone Forte tab 2-5 tab (8-20 mg) every other day. Acute leukemia, nephrotic syndrome, acute pemphigus Decilone tab 20-30 tab (10-15 mg) daily. Decilone Forte tab 5-7½ tab (20-30 mg) every other day.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ active, latent or questionably healed TB, DM, CHF, infectious disease, peptic ulcer, fresh anastomoses, diverticulitis, thrombophlebitis, chronic renal failure, uremia, psychotic tendency, herpes simplex of the eye. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Excessive mental stimulation, increased appetite, muscle twitching, wt increase, tachycardia, insomnia & psychic disturbances.
