Contents
Per cap Dextromethorphan HBr 15 mg, phenylpropanolamine HCl 25 mg, paracetamol 325 mg. Per 5 mL susp Dextromethorphan HBr 10 mg, phenylpropanolamine HCl 12.5 mg, paracetamol 250 mg
Indications/Uses
Relief of cough, clogged nose, postnasal drip, headache, body aches & fever associated w/ common cold, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, flu & other minor resp tract infections. Helps decongest sinus opening & passages.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Cap Adult & childn >12 yr 1 cap every 6 hr. Susp Adult & childn >12 yr 10 mL every 6 hr. Childn 7-12 yr 5 mL every 6 hr, 2-6 yr 2.5 mL every 6 hr.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ high BP, toxic goiter, BPH, heart rate irregularity, glaucoma & in those taking antidepressant. Do not use if w/ persistent or chronic cough or when coughing is accompanied by excessive secretions. Do not use w/ other products containing paracetamol. Discontinue if symptoms do not improve or new symptoms appear. Kidney or liver disease. Paracetamol: Discontinue if hypersensitivity occurs. Preexisting anemia. Patients who consume ≥3 alcoholic drinks daily. Phenylpropanolamine: Patients w/ heart disease & uncontrolled/untreated high BP.
Adverse Reactions
Phenylpropanolamine HCl: Nervousness, restlessness, irritability, aggressiveness, insomnia, dizziness, headache & tremor; nausea & palpitations; increases in BP, chest tightness; ventricular or atrial premature contractions & paroxysms of ventricular & atrial tachycardia. Paracetamol: Minor GI disturbances, dermatologic reactions.

N02BE51 - paracetamol, combinations excl. psycholeptics ; Belongs to the class of anilide preparations. Used to relieve pain and fever.
