Difflam Mint/Difflam Solution/Difflam Forte Benzydamine HCl. Difflam/Difflam Eucalyptus & Menthol/Difflam Orange Benzydamine HCl 3 mg, cetylpyridinium Cl 1.33 mg. Per 15 mL Difflam-C soln Benzydamine HCl 22.5 mg, chlorhexidine gluconate 18 mg

Indications/Uses

Temporary relief of painful conditions of the oral cavity including tonsillitis, sore throat, radiation mucositis, aphthous ulcers, post-orosurgical & periodontal procedures, pharyngitis, swelling & inflammatory conditions. Difflam-C Anti-inflammatory/antiseptic.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Loz 1 loz to be sucked 1-2 hrly. Max: 12 loz/day for ≤7 days. Oromucosal soln Adult 15 mL gargled for at least 30 sec at 1½-3 hrly interval as needed. Rinse for oral lesion 15 mL held in the mouth & swirled around for at least 30 sec repeated every 1½-3 hr throughout the day. Childn 6-12 yr 5-15 mL. Throat spray Adult & childn >12 yr 2-4 sprays. Childn 6-12 yr 2 sprays. Spray directly onto the sore/inflamed area & swallow gently. Repeat every 1½-3 hr as necessary.

Overdosage

Special Precautions

Hypersensitivity. History of asthma & NSAIDs hypersensitivity. Do not swallow soln. Severe hepatic or renal impairment. Sensitization reaction w/ soln. Appropriate antibacterial therapy should be considered in bacterial infection complications. Excessive lozenge consumption may have laxative effect. Pregnancy. Childn <6 yr.

Adverse Reactions

Oral numbness; dryness or thirst, tingling, warm feeling in mouth, altered sense of taste. Systemic adverse reactions are very uncommon & are not serious in nature.
