Indications/Uses
Short-term treatment of nausea & vomiting of various etiologies. Prokinetic in dyspepsia & in diabetic gastroparesis. Symptomatic treatment of migraine w/ paracetamol.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Nausea & vomiting Adult 10-20 mg tid-qid. Childn 200-500 mcg/kg tid-qid. Dyspepsia 10 mg tid. Migraine 20 mg every 4 hr w/ paracetamol.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach.
Special Precautions
Not recommended for chronic use for routine prophylaxis of post-op nausea & vomiting.
Adverse Reactions
Galactorrhoea; reduced libido, rashes & other allergic reactions; dystonic reactions.
Drug Interactions
May antagonize the hypoprolactinaemic effect & may alter the absorption of drugs eg, bromocriptine. May antagonize the prokinetic effects w/ opioid analgesics & antimuscarinics.
