Hepatitis B vaccine recombinant
Indications/Uses
Immunization against infection caused by all known subtypes of HBV.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IM Adult >16 yr 1 mL. Neonate, infant & childn (≤15 yr) 0.5 mL. Immunization regimen consists of 3 doses: 1st dose: At elected date; 2nd dose: 1 mth after the 1st dose; 3rd dose: 6 mth after the 1st dose.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Postpone immunization in patients suffering from acute severe febrile illness. In patients suffering from multiple sclerosis, any stimulation of the immune system can induce exacerbation of symptoms. Patients in latent or progressive state of hepatitis B. Contains thimerosal (an organomercuric compd). Do not administer in the gluteal region & must not be administered IV. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Inj site pain. Abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting; fever, induration, oedema, tenderness, inflammation; anorexia; abnormal crying, somnolence; insomnia, nervousness, irritability; erythematous rash, erythema; hematoma.
