Contents
Fe fumarate 150 mg (equiv to elemental Fe 49.5 mg), folic acid 1 mg, cyanocobalamin 15 mcg
Indications/Uses
Prevention & treatment of all anemias that are responsive in oral Fe therapy; Fe deficiency & Fe deficiency anemias. Fe dietary supplement.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 cap daily.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: May be taken w/ meals to reduce GI discomfort.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Hemolytic anemia, hemochromatosis & hemosiderosis.
Special Precautions
Not for treatment of pernicious anemias & other megaloblastic anemias where vit B12 is deficient. Discontinue use if symptoms of intolerance occur. Folic acid may obscure pernicious anaemia. Childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
GI irritation, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting & dark stools. Allergic sensitization.
Drug Interactions
Antacids, tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones, Ca salts, proton pump inhibitors.
ATC Classification
B03AE02 - iron, multivitamins and folic acid ; Belongs to the class of iron in other combinations. Used in the treatment of anemia.
