Indications/Uses
Temporarily relieves cough due to minor throat & bronchial irritation as may occur w/ a cold & expectorant actions to help loosen phlegm & thin bronchial secretion to make cough more productive. Helps relieve chest congestion.
History of asthma; bronchitis, emphysema, or in other conditions where chronic or persistent cough occurs. Not to be given during an acute attack. Dextromethorphan: Patients at risk of developing resp failure. Childn <4 yr.
R05FA02 - opium derivatives and expectorants ; Belongs to the class of combinations of opium derivatives cough suppressants and expectorants. Used in the treatment of cough.
