Adverse Reactions
Vit E: Diarrhea, abdominal pain & other GI disturbances; blurred vision, dizziness, fatigue & weakness. Increased bleeding tendency in vit K deficient patients. Increased risk of heart failure in doses >400 IU. Vit C: Diarrhea & other GI disturbances. Kidney stones & severe diarrhea in doses 1-2 g daily. Zn: Nausea & vomiting in doses >30 mg. Decrease copper absorption & anemia in doses >40 mg daily.
Drug Interactions
Vit E: Enhanced coagulated response w/ anticoagulants (eg, warfarin). Decreased absorption w/ orlistat, cholestyramine & colestipol. Zn: Reduced absorption w/ Fe supplements, penicillamine, phosphorus-containing prep & tetracyclines. Reduced absorption of copper, fluoroquinolones, Fe, penicillamine & tetracyclines.
