Hyoscine-N-butylbromide
Indications/Uses
GI spasm & hypermotility, pylorospasm in infant, post-op vomiting, spastic constipation, biliary dyskinesia & spasm of the urinary tract, delayed relaxation of the lower uterine segment, dysmenorrhea.
Dosage/Direction for Use
SC/IM/slow IV 20 mg bid-tid.
Special Precautions
Impaired metabolic liver or kidney function. Avoid driving & operating after parenteral administration.
Adverse Reactions
CNS effects eg, drowsiness & transient disturbance of accommodation. Increase in pulse rate.
Drug Interactions
Anticholinergic effects of TCAs, antihistamines, quinidine, amantadine & disopyramide. Enhances tachycardic effects of β-adrenergic agents. Dopamine antagonists reduces effects on GUT. Alcohol.
