A. DEFICIT THERAPY (First 4-6 hours): Dissolve 2 sachets of GLUCOST R in 200 mL of distilled/boiled water; for higher volumes required, use proportionate number of sachets and amount of water (e.g. 10 sachets of GLUCOST R in 1,000 mL or 1 L of distilled/boiled water).
DOSAGE GUIDE (Volume to be given within 4-6 hours): See Table 1.

B. MAINTENANCE THERAPY: Dissolve one (1) sachet of GLUCOST R in 100 mL of distilled/boiled and cooled-down water; for higher volumes required, use proportionate number of sachets and amount of water (e.g. 10 sachets in 1,000 mL or 1 L of distilled/boiled and cooled-down water).
DOSAGE GUIDE (Volume to be given within the next 24 hours alternately with breastmilk, cow's milk if tolerated, plain water, rice water, fruit juice, tea, broth, etc.).
Based on the patient's actual weight, the volume required for maintenance is: for infants, 100 mL/kg/day; for children and adults, 60 mL/kg/day. If weighing scale is not available, use as guide the approximate weight under DEFICIT THERAPY as previously mentioned.
Use the maintenance dose to replace fluid and electrolyte losses associated with vigorous exercises and athletics.
C. ACTIVE REPLACEMENT THERAPY (After deficit therapy but diarrhea remains): Reconstitute GLUCOST R as Maintenance Therapy as previously mentioned.
DOSAGE GUIDE (Volume to be given until the diarrhea stops, after which maintenance rehydration should be started). For practical dosing, give 50 mL for infants, 100 mL for children and 200 mL for adults for every large watery stool; or as follows: See Table 2.

D. PREVENTIVE THERAPY (To replenish water and electrolyte losses at the onset of diarrhea): Follow direction and dosification as in Active Replacement Therapy as previously mentioned.
