Mucopolysaccharide polysulfate (Organo-heparinoid "Luitpold").
Description
Each 100 g of cream contains: Mucopolysaccharide polysulfate (Organo-Heparinoid "Luitpold") corr. to 25 000 Units; methyl parahydroxybenzoate 160 mg; propyl parahydroxybenzoate 40 mg, cream base ad 100 g.
Organo-heparinoid is absorbable through the skin, an acid mucopolysaccharide isolated from animal organs and embedded in a well tolerated, non-irritant cream preparation.
Excipients/Inactive Ingredients: Methyl parahydroxybenzoate, Propyl parahydroxybenzoate, Cream base.
Action
Percutaneous antithrombotic and anti-inflammatory.
Mucopolysaccharide polysulfate cream contains the organo-heparinoid "Luitpold", an anticoagulant substance activating fibrinolysis. It is the first preparation to make this substance pass through the skin so that its valuable properties can evolve their full activity.
Mucopolysaccharide polysulfate cream brings about a marked anti-inflammatory effect; activates the blood circulation; promotes the absorption of haematoma and reduction of swellings; alleviates pain and makes the feeling of tension in the affected area disappear; promotes the regeneration of the connective tissue.
Mucopolysaccharide polysulfate cream does not harm the tissue and is well tolerated; does not irritate the skin; reduces the duration of the disease.
Indications/Uses
Superficial phlebitis and thrombosis of the veins; inflammation of varicose veins; ulcus cruris (leg ulcer); after-treatment of sclerosed varices; general treatment of the veins (prevention of phlebitis); inflammatory processes of any kind (such as furuncles, carbuncles, inflammation of the lymph glands); haematoma; swellings; sural spasms; softening of hard scars; to improve the formation of scars (due to injuries, burns, operations, etc.).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Unless the doctor prescribes otherwise, a ribbon of Mucopolysaccharide polysulfate cream about 3 to 5 cm in length (if necessary even more) is applied to the affected part once or twice daily and made to enter the skin by slight friction until the cream has disappeared.
In very painful inflammations and thrombosis, the affected area and its vicinity must carefully be spread over with Mucopolysaccharide polysulfate cream and covered with a piece of linen soaked with it. To intensify its effect, Mucopolysaccahride polysulfate cream should be rubbed into the further vicinity of the affected area.
To loosen hard scars, the cream is massaged vigorously into them.
Storage
Store at temperatures not exceeding 25°C.
