Dosage/Direction for Use
SC Dosage according to individual requirements.
Special Precautions
Transferring to another type or brand, change in strength, species, &/or method of manufacture of insulin, uncorrected hypoglycemic or hyperglycemic reactions, use of inadequate dosages or discontinuation of treatment, diseases of the adrenal, pituitary, or thyroid gland, renal or hepatic impairment. May increase insulin requirements during illness or emotional disturbances. Change in physical activity or usual diet, combination of thiazolidinediones & insulin in patients w/ underlying cardiac disease. Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Lipodystrophy, insulin resistance; local & systemic allergies, edema.
Drug Interactions
OCs, corticosteroids, thyroid replacement therapy; oral hypoglycemics, salicylates (eg, acetylsalicylic acid), sulfa antibiotics, certain antidepressants, thiazolidinediones, β-blockers & alcohol.
