Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of allergic conditions including rhinitis or chronic urticaria.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >6 yr 5 mg as a single daily dose. Patients w/ neuropathy Adjusted dose according to the renal function of patient. Severe renal impairment (<10, <30 mL/min) 5 mg once every 3 days; Moderate renal impairment (<30, <50 mL/min) 5 mg once every 2 days; Mild renal impairment (<50, <80 mL/min) 5 mg once daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Renal failure. Rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, Lapp-lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <6 yr.
Special Precautions
Renal impairment, hepatopathy. Somnolence in case of overdosage. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Drowsiness, ennui, headache, paralysis, temporary lassitude, tiredness, dizziness, agitation; polydipsia, dry mouth, nausea, stomach discomfort, anorexia, dyspepsia, abdominal pain & discomfort, gastroenteric impairment, diarrhea, cheilitis, taste abnormality; increase or decrease in platelet in blood; pruritus, angioedema; blurredness of eyes, hyperemia conjunctivae; increase in ALT, ALP, total bilirubin; DM, occult blood in urine; pharyngitis, cough, epistaxis, bronchospasm, hearing & sight abnormality, tinnitus.
Drug Interactions
Avoid alcohol intake. Slightly decrease clearance w/ theophylline.
