Each ml contains: Liposomal Doxorubicin Hydrochloride 2 mg/ml.
Doxorubicin HCl (Lipo-Dox), a liposome formulation, is doxorubicin hydrochloride encapsulated in liposomes with surface-bound methoxypolyethylene glycol (MPEG). This process is known pegylation and it protects liposomes from detection by the mononuclear phagocyte system (MPS) and increases circulation time in blood.
Each Doxorubicin HCl (Lipo-Dox) vial contains pegylated liposomal doxorubicin HCl 2 mg/mL and delivers 10 mL (20 mg) in a concentrate for single dose intravenous infusion and is presented as a sterile, translucent, and red suspension. The active ingredient of Lipo-Dox is doxorubicin HCl, a cytotoxic anthracycline antibiotic obtained from Streptomyces peuticus var. caesius.
