Indications/Uses
Treatment & prevention of vit B12 deficiency.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
Should be taken with food: Place tab under the tongue until dissolved before swallowing.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Patients w/ suspected vit B12 deficiency w/o confirmed diagnosis. Regular monitoring of blood is advisable. Dose >10 mcg daily may produce a hematological response in patients w/ folate deficiency. Not to be used for Leber's disease or tobacco amblyopia.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances, fever, chills, hot flushing, dizziness, malaise, acneiform & bullous eruption, tremor. Skin rashes & anaphylaxis.
Drug Interactions
Reduced absorption w/ neomycin, aminosalicylic acid, histamine H2-antagonist, omeprazole & colchicine. OCs & parenteral chloramphenicol.

B03BA01 - cyanocobalamin ; Belongs to the class of vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin and analogues). Used in the treatment of anemia.
