OB Max contains the amino acid taurine, which is the most abundant free amino acid present in most biologic fluids eg, muscles, platelets, heart, brain, eyes and developing central nervous system. Previous studies show that there is intraplacental transfer of Taurine during pregnancy. Taurine is also found in mother's milk. Taurine supplementation is highly beneficial to neonates, especially premature ones. Taurine plays an important role in the psychomotor development of infants, the ability to coordinate intellectual and motor skills, the ability to turn over at will, to sit, to crawl, to stand, to walk and to run.
OB Max contains 150% of the daily requirement of folic acid which, together with 150% required dietary intake (RENI) of vitamin B12, is fundamental in the formation of genetic material. It also promotes red blood cell formation and helps regulate embryonic development of nerve cells, a function vital for normal fetal growth and development.
