Chlorhexidine gluconate
Indications/Uses
Adjunct to oral hygiene for medically compromised patients during severe illness or hospitalization; reduce oral complications w/ HIV/AIDS or undergoing cancer therapy. Helps in the prevention & treatment of gingivitis, plaque build-up, cold sores, halitosis. Adjunct to oral hygiene some wk prior to crowns & bridges; maintenance of patients treated w/ implants, periodontal surgery & other surgical procedures; as soaking soln for removable dentures & orthodontic appliances.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Use 10 mL (undiluted) bid (morning & evening) oral rinsing for 30 sec.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Do not eat immediately after rinsing. Do not rinse w/ water or other mouthwashes.
Special Precautions
Not intended for ingestion & should be expectorated after rinsing. Pregnancy.
