Indications/Uses
Sequential-therapy (step-up) from oral therapy. Active duodenal or gastric ulcer w/ bleeding or severe erosions. Short-term treatment of erosive or ulcerative GERD. Prevention of acid-aspiration. Stress-induced mucosal injury in critical care. Pathological hypersecretory conditions, including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Dosage/Direction for Use
20 mg IV once daily slowly over 5-15 min or short-term infusion over 15-30 min.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to rabeprazole Na or substituted benzimidazoles.
Special Precautions
Risk for osteoporosis-related fractures of the hip, wrist or spine. Severe hepatic impairment. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Pain, pharyngitis, flatulence, infection & constipation.
Drug Interactions
Increased INR & prothrombin time w/ warfarin. Inhibit cyclosporine metabolism.
